Lobi Stars Win Gusua/Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament

Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi has emerged champions of the 2024 Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 'Alia Boys' defeated Wikki Tourists 4-3 on penalties after it ended one apiece in regulation time in the final decided at the Jos International Stadium. Eugene Agagbe led side went unbeaten in the tournament, scoring 8 goals and conceding only once. The Pride of Benue saw off Mighty Jets and Discovery Talent Academy and picked a draw against Kano Pillars in the group stages. In the quarter-finals, they defeated NPFL side Niger Tornadoes one-nil before dismantling North Central rivals Nasarawa United 3-0 in the semi-finals. The 'Yes Father Boys' will kick off their campaign in the 2024/2025 NPFL season against Akwa United.
