Lookman Heroics Against Barcelona Power Atlético Madrid Into UCL Semifinal

Ademola Lookman delivered another decisive moment for Atlético Madrid, scoring in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash against FC Barcelona.

The Nigerian forward found the net in the 31st minute to revive Atlético’s challenge after Barcelona had overturned the hosts’ two-goal first-leg advantage earlier in the match.

Barcelona made a fast start at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, with Lamine Yamal opening the scoring in the 4th minute before Ferran Torres doubled the lead in the 24th minute, putting the visitors firmly in control.

However, Lookman’s intervention shifted the momentum. His goal not only reduced the deficit on the night but also restored Atlético’s advantage on aggregate, swinging the tie back in favour of the Spanish side.

The forward once again demonstrated his effectiveness on the big stage, using his pace and direct attacking play to trouble Barcelona’s defence before capitalising on his opportunity.

The strike further underlines Lookman’s growing influence since his move to Atlético, where he has quickly established himself as a key figure in attack. He had previously scored against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg, continuing his strong record against the Catalan club.

With the match still in progress, Barcelona continue to press for another goal, while Atlético aim to protect their aggregate lead in a tightly contested encounter.
