Lookman's Impact At Atletico Threatens Nico Gonzalez

Ibrahim Lawal

International transfer expert Matteo Moretto has claimed that Nico Gonzalez place at Atletico Madrid, is now threatened following the immediate impact of Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In a post on his YouTube channel, Moretto analyzed the situation of Nico Gonzalez and the potential connection with Lookman ahead to next season.

The Argentine winger, currently on loan at Atletico but still owned by Juventus, could return to Turin at the end of the season.

According to what has been explained, the fates of Nico and Lookman are somehow linked. The Nigerian striker has made an extraordinary impact with Atlético, proving decisive in both La Liga and the Copa del Rey, where he scored a crucial goal against Barcelona.

His performances have won over fans and the club, making him one of the protagonists of the season.

The arrival of Lookman, however, risks reducing the playing time available to Nico Gonzalez.

Despite Diego Simeone's high regard for him and a very positive relationship between coach and player, the Argentine could find less consistency.

Before his injury, Nico had nevertheless put in good performances and was considered an important piece in the coach's rotation.

Contractually, the deal between Juventus and Atlético Madrid was finalized on the basis of a loan deal worth approximately €1 million, with a buy-to-buy option set at €32 million, which would become mandatory upon reaching 60% of the season's appearances (assuming at least 45 minutes per match).

Currently, Nico is nowhere near this threshold. For this reason, his future in Madrid appears uncertain.

There are doubts as to whether Atlético will impose an automatic buy-to-buy obligation. It 's possible that, at the end of the season, the parties could sit down to renegotiate the terms of a potential purchase , but this is a scenario that will be evaluated at a later date.
