Louis Edem Tourney: Odaudu Wary Of Spintex Knights For Rivers Hoopers
Ibrahim Lateef
Rivers Hoopers head coach Ogoh Odaudu is elated to reach the final of the Louis Edem Invitational Basketball Championship in Lagos, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The KingsMen outplayed Lagos Raptors to record an 82-52 victory in the second semi-final played on Friday.
Since playing in the final of the Crown Elite Basketball Championship in February last year, Hoopers have played in three tournaments and have failed to make it to the final in all three of them.
The Sam Oguche tournament, NBBF Final Eight, and the first edition of the Louis Edem Invitational Basketball Championship.
Odaudu feels excited to make it to another final after three failed attempts.
''It feels good to be in the final, said Odaudu. '
'But the celebration will not be complete till we win the final game. All the same, we are happy to be in the final.''
Odaudu expects a tough final having met Spintex Knights in two previous meetings this year and winning both. The first was at the group stage of the first edition of the Louis Edem Championship, and the second was this week.
The D'Tigers coach thinks the Ghanaian team is a more improved team than their last meeting.
''They have been getting better after every game and they have improved a lot so it won't be the same. In the group phase, we were all playing running time so it is not a true reflection of how the team is. We are hopeful we will do well to win the final.
Rivers Hoopers will play Spintex Knights at 4 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday).
