Magic Stars Qualify For Viareggio Cup Knockout Phase

Magic Stars made it three wins from three matches after beating Sassuolo U19 3-0 in their final Viareggio Youth Tournament group game on Friday, with Sesan Emmanuel, Kalu Chisom and Ebuka Adiele scoring, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

It was a fairly one-sided contest at the Stadio Bellucci, with the Nationwide League One team doing just enough to win the tie and for a place in the knockout phase.

The Lagos Magicians opened the scoring in the first half of an effort from Kalu Chisom, off an assist from Wisdom, for his third goal in the prestigious Viareggio Cup.

It was 2-0 early in the second half, after Sesan Emmanuel doubled the lead for his fourth goal of the campaign.

Adiele then struck the third for his team as Magic Stars wrapped it up, finishing the group phase unbeaten and keeping two clean sheets.

It was another comprehensive win for Coach Henshaw Bisoye NTA-ette Magic Stars, who gave his thoughts after the game.

"I feel so happy to have found myself here, it is a good feeling that we were able to finish on top of the table without losing a game. We won't allow this to overwhelm us as the focus is on the trophy, so we are turning our attention to the next stage; we just want to make history in this tournament.
