Maikaba Seeks Bayelsa United Supporters’ Backing Ahead Of Promotion Push

Newly appointed Bayelsa United head coach Abdu Maikaba has called on the club’s supporters to rally behind the team as they begin preparations for the new Nigeria National League (NNL) season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Maikaba was unveiled by the club last week following Bayelsa United’s relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), with the experienced tactician handed the responsibility of guiding the team back to the top flight.

The former Akwa United and Plateau United coach was appointed with the main objective of securing promotion and restoring Bayelsa United’s place among Nigeria’s elite clubs.

Speaking ahead of the new campaign, Maikaba stressed the importance of supporters’ involvement, describing them as a key factor in the team’s quest for success.

“The players will give everything on the pitch, but football is always stronger when the supporters become the twelfth man,” Maikaba said.

“Together, we can build a winning culture and achieve promotion.”

The coach is expected to begin restructuring the squad as Bayelsa United intensify their preparations for a competitive NNL campaign aimed at securing a quick return to the NPFL.
