Majority FA Chairmen Gives NFF Two Weeks Ultimatum To Hold General Assembly
By Our Reporter
A majority of State FA Chairmen have given the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee not later than two weeks to hold its General Assembly.
The NFF Congress has failed to meet since December 2021 after a Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, issued an injunction against such meeting.
The applicant in this case has since applied to discontinue the case after the FA Chairmen dialogued with him.
However, the application has yet to be granted by the court.
The majority of the NFF Congress wishes to set the machinery in motion for Elections into the NFF Executive Committee in September.
This comes on the heels of directives by President Muhammadu Buhari that the NFF fast track reforms for fairer representation in the Congress as well as that Elections be held in September.
The NFF leadership has opposed these orders.
