Makalala Scoops Double Awards At Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season Tourney

Victor Makalala has scooped two most prized awards for his scintillating performance for Plateau United at the 2nd edition of the ongoing Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season Tournament in Bauchi, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Recall, Makalala just finished the season with Heartland and promoted the Naze Millionaires to NPFL before moving to Plateau United.

He was given the Man of the Match and Best Goal Scorer awards after Plateau United ran riot against Bauchi Selected team at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.

Expressing his delight, "I want to thank the organizers of the Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season Tournament, as the award is a reward for my hard work as I try to keep in shape for the new season. 

"This award is not just for me but for the team too, as we have put in our best to get this far in the tournament.

"The target is to win the tournament, as it will boost our confidence level going into the new NPFL season."

Plateau United has been in superb form since the start of its campaign in the pre-season tournament in Bauchi.

It began by sharing the spoils with El-Kanemi Warriors whom they drew 1-1, edged newly-promoted Katsina United by a lone goal, and crushed Bauchi Selected by three goals to nil.

Makalala, who had a stint with Georgia FC in Atlanta Georgia, United States is set to make his mark when the new Nigeria Premier Football League kicks off in September.
