Masai Russell Shatters Tobi Amusan’s 100m Hurdles World Record

American hurdler Masai Russell has broken Tobi Amusan’s world record in the women’s 100m hurdles, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Russell produced a sensational performance at the Zurich Diamond League, clocking 12.09 seconds to win the event and set a new world record.

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, popularly known as “Tobi Express,” finished second in the race, recording a season’s best of 12.23 seconds.

The result brings an end to Amusan’s reign as the women’s 100m hurdles world-record holder.

The Nigerian had set the previous record of 12.12 seconds in 2022, delivering a historic performance that stunned the athletics world. Russell’s 12.09-second run now stands as the new global benchmark in the event.
