Match Abandoned After Gunshots Reportedly Heard Outside Stadium

A league match between Al Ittihad and Al Swehly in Libya was abandoned on Thursday after gunshots were reportedly heard outside the stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The encounter was stopped with around 10 minutes remaining as panic spread around the venue following the tense situation outside the ground.

Players and officials were immediately forced off the pitch as security concerns became the priority.

Supporters inside the stadium were also left shocked as authorities moved quickly to ensure the safety of everyone present.

Further details surrounding the incident are still unclear, while officials are yet to announce when the remainder of the match will be played.
