Match Bonus: Super Eagles Player Lose N45m Each In AFCON Final, Awaits N41m From NFF

Each Super Eagles player is expecting the sum of $27,500 equivalent of (N41M) from the Nigeria Football Federation being outstanding payment for their victories in the quarter-final and Semifinal match bonuses at the just-concluded 2023 African Nations Cup in Cote D'Ivoire, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Consequently, for their failure to beat the hosts in the final, each of them also lost $30,000 (N45M) being bonus the win in the final.

According to ScoreNigeria, each player got his $30,000 per player for getting the Second Round ticket from Group A of the tournament. Added to this, the NFF has also paid $12,500 for beating Cameroon 2-0 in the Round of 16.

Nigeria beat Angola 1-0 in the quarter-final and South Africa 4-2 on penalties in the semi-final to book a final game with Cote D'Ivoire.

Nigeria has won the AFCON title three times and won the second place (silver) five times in eight AFCON final appearances.
