Match-Fixing Allegation Rocks NLO As Organisers Invite Clubs For Interrogation

The organisers of the 2026 Nationwide League One (NLO) have invited MC Steve FC and Beautiful Tours FC to explain the controversial outcome of their league match which ended 10-3, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The encounter, played on Thursday, May 14, 2026, has raised concerns over the integrity of the result, prompting the league body to launch an investigation into the game.

In a statement issued by the organisers, both clubs were formally asked to defend the circumstances surrounding the high-scoring encounter.

“We formally invite Mc Steve Football Club and Beautiful Tours Football Club to provide an explanation regarding the results of the league match which took place on Thursday, 14th May 2026 with a 10-3 scoreline.

“It has come to our attention that there are concerns regarding the integrity of the match, and we request that both clubs present their case to demonstrate why the outcome should not be deemed a compromised match,” the statement read.

The league body also instructed both teams to prepare written statements and any supporting documents ahead of the review process.

“Please prepare your statements and any supporting documentation you wish to submit. We would appreciate receiving your responses by Monday, 18th May 2026, to allow for a thorough review before any further actions are taken.

“Your cooperation in maintaining the integrity of the Nationwide League One is greatly valued. 

Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us,” the statement added.

The development has sparked reactions among football stakeholders, with many calling on the organisers to ensure a transparent investigation in order to protect the credibility of the league.
