Medeama SC To Ambush Remo Stars In Cape Coast Stadium

Ghana Premier League defending champions Medeama SC will ambush Nigerian side Remo Stars in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League at the Cape Coast Stadium, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
The Yellow and Mauves was given up to Monday, July 31, 2023 by CAF to submit it preferred venue and kick off time for its opening matche in the continent Inter-club competitions.
Medeama SC have settled on the Cape Coast Stadium and will host Remo Stars on Sunday, August 20, 2023 before travelling to Nigeria for the second leg.
Medeama's last participation in CAF inter-club competitions was in 2016, where they reached the group stages after eliminating South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the playoff.
The winner of this tie will take on Guinean giants Horoya AC in the second preliminary round, and the winner from there will make it to the group stage.
Meanwhile, the Tarkwa-based club will host their Togolese counterparts ASKO de Kara in an international friendly at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday, August 4, 2023.
The match, according to the club, forms part of preparations towards their CAF Champions League campaign against Remo Stars which will begins from next month.
It will also serve as pre-season preparations for the team ahead of the 2023/24 league season.
