Mexico Hold Flamingos In FIFA U17 Women's World Cup Warm up Game

Nigeria’s Flamingos were forced to a 1-1 draw by Mexico in a friendly game on Monday.

Played in Dominican Republic, the coach Bankole Olowookere tutored side used the friendly game as preparation for this year’s FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

Faridat Abdulkareem gave Flsmingos the lead in the 33rd minute, however, Mexico equalised with three minutes left in the first half. 

Nigeria are in Group A with hosts Dominican Republic, Ecuador and New Zealand and will open their campaign against New Zealand on October 16, 2024.

At the 2022 FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in India, Flamingos finished third.
