Mokoena Saga: SAFA CEO Unfazed By FIFA Investigation Sampson Adedeji South African Football Association (SAFA) Chief Executive Officer Lydia Monyepao says the federation remains calm despite FIFA’s investigation into midfielder Teboho Mokoena’s eligibility, BSNSports.com.ng reports. FIFA on Thursday confirmed it had launched a probe into Mokoena’s appearance in March’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho, despite the player reportedly serving a suspension. The case has since been referred to FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee. Speaking on the matter, Monyepao maintained that SAFA’s priority is ensuring Bafana Bafana stay on track for qualification. “We’re not really worried about that,” she said. “Our focus is on making sure Bafana Bafana get maximum points in October". "Whatever happens even if points are docked if we secure six points next month, nothing else matters. “It’s all about taking Bafana Bafana to the USA, Mexico and Canada for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”
