Monday Gift Eyes Super Falcons Return

After missing the last African Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco, Monday Gift has set her sights on a return to the Super Falcons squad, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The U.S.-based striker was a notable absentee from the Nigerian team that triumphed in Morocco last July.

However, her impressive run of form in the United States has reignited hopes of a national team comeback.

“Playing for the Super Falcons is a very big honour for me, and I am more than happy to wear the jersey,” she said after Sunday’s win.

“I’m just doing what I can to get my act together and hope I get called up. I’m preparing for what is ahead of me.”

Gift’s resurgence has raised optimism that she could once again don the green and white as Nigeria prepare for upcoming international engagements.
