Moroccan side USM Oujda have terminated the contract of Senegalese midfielder Issa Ndiaye following his controversial comments on the decision to strip Senegal of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Board sent shockwaves across the continent last Tuesday after annulling Senegal’s AFCON 2025 triumph and awarding Morocco a 3-0 victory.

USM Oujda, who compete in Morocco’s second division, have now parted ways with Ndiaye in the aftermath of the ruling. 

Although the club did not officially state the reason for the termination, several reports indicate it is linked to the player’s reaction to CAF’s decision.

The midfielder was alleged to have mocked the verdict, a response said to have angered his Moroccan employers.

His comments were reportedly viewed as disrespectful, particularly given the national significance of the ruling for Moroccan football, prompting swift internal action that led to the termination of his contract.
