The Super Falcons of Nigeria put up a five-star performance in the five-nil demolition of Cape Verde in the first leg of the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations final qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Falcons, led by Justin Madugu handed Cape Verde their worst defeat in the history of women’s football at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

A goal from Gift Monday, braces for Uchenna Kanu and substitute Esther Okoronkwo ensured that Africa's most successful side have one foot in Morocco as they head into the second leg with a 5-0 advantage.

Prior to the qualifiers with their Cape Verdian counterparts, the nine-time champions reached this final stage of the qualification series following the withdrawal of Sao Tome’s senior girls from a second-round fixture in September.

The return leg will be played in Praia on Tuesday, 5th December.
