Following South Africa's heavy defeat to Nigeria, head coach Ntombifuthi Khumalo acknowledged that the Nigerian team was the superior side, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria's Flamingos delivered a dominant performance, crushing South Africa’s Bantwana 5-1 on aggregate in the World Cup qualifiers.

Despite the disappointing outcome, Khumalo commended her players for their efforts.

“I am disappointed that we didn’t progress to the next stage, but I am proud of my girls for their performance,” she said.

“This is an international stage, and while some of them gave their best, Nigeria proved to be the stronger team.

“For me, the biggest takeaway is the experience gained. Facing the same tough opponent in both legs was a challenge, but we know Nigeria excels in African competitions,” she concluded.
