Morocco Honours Congolese Fan Lumumba VEA for Outstanding Support

Morocco, host nation of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, has formally recognised Congolese supporter Lumumba VEA as one of the most outstanding personalities of the ongoing tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Lumumba VEA rose to prominence during the competition following a viral image that captured his passion and unwavering support, drawing widespread admiration from football fans across the continent and beyond. 

His presence has since become emblematic of the vibrant fan culture that has defined AFCON 2025.

In acknowledgement of his commitment and positive impact, Moroccan authorities have granted Lumumba VEA special permission to remain in the country and attend all remaining matches of the tournament, including the final.

The gesture has been widely hailed as a powerful symbol of appreciation for the role supporters play in shaping the atmosphere, identity, and global appeal of the Africa Cup of Nations. 

AFCON 2025 has been celebrated not only for the quality of football on display, but also for the passion and colour brought by fans from across Africa, with Lumumba VEA standing out as a lasting image of the tournament’s spirit.
