Host country Morocco has announced the two cities that will stage the 2023 U23 African Cup of Nations, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Morocco was announced as the host country by the African soccer ruling body after no country bid to stage the competition except the North African country.

Moroccan Football Federation on Thursday afternoon named Agadir and Marrakech as the two host cities for the tournament.

The finalists and third-place team will qualify for the 2024 Olympics Games in Paris.

Nigeria's Dream Team failed to appear at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after they failed to qualify for the AFCON.

Dream Team remained Africa's most successful team in the football event of the Olympics: Gold in 1996, Silver in 2008 and Bronze in Rio 2016.
