Nantes winger Moses Simon has earned a nomination for the Ligue 1 Goal of the Season award, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Eagles star is in the running alongside Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, Olympique de Marseille’s Amine Gouiri, Angers’ Esteban Lepaul, and Strasbourg’s Andrey Santos.

Simon’s nomination comes courtesy of his brilliant solo goal in Nantes’ 1-0 win over Stade Rennes before the winter break.

The 29-year-old dazzled with a mazy run, beating three defenders before slotting home decisively.

This marks Simon’s first-ever nomination for the prestigious Goal Award.

The Nigerian international has had a standout season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances.

In addition to this nomination, Simon is also in the frame for the Marc-Vivien Foé Award, given to the best African player in France’s top flight.

With Nantes currently fighting to avoid relegation, Simon has been the subject of transfer speculation ahead of the summer window.
