Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou has shared his excitement over the signing of Nigerian winger Ibrahim Said, outlining the qualities the former Golden Eaglets star will add to the Scottish Premier League side, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Said penned a two-year deal with the club on Friday, joining from Danish outfit Viborg, where he impressed in the Superliga.
Speaking on the club’s latest addition, Askou said: “Ibrahim is a versatile winger who excels both in wide 1v1 situations and in tighter spaces within the opposition’s structure.”
He continued, “He made a strong impact at Viborg over several seasons, and we’re delighted to have him here at Motherwell. He brings pace, dribbling, pressing intensity, and quality in front of goal—attributes that will certainly strengthen our attack.”
Askou also emphasized the need for patience as Said integrates into the squad:
“He’s a few weeks behind the rest of the team in terms of fitness, so we’ll gradually build him up with a clear plan in place.”
At just 23, the manager believes Said has significant room for development: “He’s still young and full of potential. I’m confident he’ll flourish in our setup and become an exciting player for the fans.”
