My Father Reason Behind Manchester City Move - Iheanacho

Nigeria's Super Eagles and Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has said his father was the reason he snubbed other clubs for Manchester City, BSNSports.com.ng understand.

The Nigeria international broke into the limelight in 2013 after helping the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria to the FIFA U17 World Cup triumph in the United Arab Emirates.

While speaking to the Leicester City website, Iheanacho said his father encouraged him to make the move to the Etihad Stadium.

" After the U17 World Cup, I was thinking of going to other teams in Europe.

But when they said I was going to Manchester City I was surprised and said how can I go there that massive team, am I going to play?

I said I wouldn't go and they should take me to a smaller team.

However my father said to me that it doesn't matter where I go, I know how to play football and I will get through there, so I believed in him, he blessed me and I went to Manchester City", he told LCFC media.

He spent two years in the Man City first team and made 46 appearances, scoring 12 goals.
