BSN Sports gathered that the congress was called to solve avoidable internal crisis as board members were not happy for not being carried along.

An insider, who spoke in confidence, told Our Correspondent on Tuesday night alleging that the President, Musa Kida and his Vice-president, Babs Ogunade are running a 'two-man Federation' leading to Members registering their displeasures.

According to the source, “The board meeting will take place in Abuja tomorrow (Wednesday) 31st August, 2022 in Abuja. And I am in Abuja to attend the Congress for the first time after the impasse and incoming of new General Secretary. To forestall how Kida ran non-inlusive Federation in his first term which i was part of as board member, it is important that we register our grievances.

"Like his first year, none of the board members heard anything on the 4th Window of D'Tigers FIBA World Cup Qualifier. This must be stopped before it gets out hand."
