NFF Concludes Plan To Organise CAF B And A Coaching License

The Nigeria Football Federation has concluded arrangements to organize a CAF B-License refresher course and a CAF A-License coaching programme as part of efforts to strengthen coaching development across the country, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to the federation, the CAF B-License refresher course will hold from June 20 to June 24, 2026, while the CAF A-License programme will run for seven months, from August 2, 2026 to February 7, 2027.

Speaking on the development, Augustine Eguavoen said the initiative is part of the federation’s broader strategy to improve the capacity of coaches in Nigeria.

“This is part of the NFF’s strategic effort to build the capacity of coaches across the country,” Eguavoen stated.

Nigeria was recently readmitted into the CAF A-License convention after spending nine years outside the programme.

The federation disclosed that applicants for the CAF A-License course must be active coaches at elite level, including the national teams, NPFL, NNL, NWFL and NLO, while also possessing a CAF B diploma.

Other requirements include proficiency in English language, computer literacy, access to a laptop or tablet throughout the programme, a medical certificate confirming physical and mental fitness, as well as submission of a curriculum vitae and reference letter.

The NFF further revealed that only 25 candidates will be selected for the CAF A-License programme after successfully completing the CAF B refresher course and pre-assessment tests. 

Successful applicants will then receive a CAF CMS link to begin the registration process.

For the CAF A-License course, Nigerian coaches are expected to pay N3,000,000, while foreign applicants will pay $3,000 each. Participants for the CAF B refresher course will pay N700,000.

The application deadline for the CAF A-License programme has been fixed for Sunday, May 31, 2026, while the CAF B refresher and CAF A pre-course assessments will take place virtually and physically between June 1 and June 23, 2026.

The assessments, according to the federation, will evaluate applicants in game analysis, presentation, reading and writing, as well as computer skills before admission into the CAF A-License course.
