NFF Confirms Arrival of Eagles’ Advance Party for Antalya Friendlies
By Niyi Busari
Nigeria’s preparations for the upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan will begin in earnest as the Super Eagles’ advance party is scheduled to arrive in Antalya, Turkey, on Monday, March 23, 2026, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
According to sources within the Nigeria Football Federation who spoke with BSN Sports on condition of anonymity, said the advance delegation comprises members of the team’s backroom staff. Their responsibility will be to coordinate logistics ahead of the team’s arrival, including receiving players at the airport and overseeing accommodation arrangements.
The Super Eagles are set to face Iran in Antalya on Friday, March 27, with kickoff slated for 4:00 p.m. local time. They will then take on Jordan on Tuesday, March 31, with the match scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
Originally, both fixtures were billed to take place in Jordan at the Amman International Stadium and King Abdullah Sports City Stadium. However, the matches were relocated to Turkey due to ongoing security concerns and military tensions in parts of the Middle East.
Head coach Eric Chelle has named a 23-man squad for the double-header, opting for a blend of experienced players and new invitees. Notably absent from the squad are star striker Victor Osimhen and first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
The matches will mark Nigeria’s first international outings since their campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where the three-time African champions concluded their continental assignment earlier this year.
