NFF Gifts Golden Eaglets Player N40,000 For Emerging WAFU B U17 Champions

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has gifted each player of the victorious Golden Eaglets squad the sum of Forty thousand Naira (N40,000) for emerging as the champions of West African Football Union B U17.


One of the top coaches of the team who spoke with BSN Sports on condition of anonymity said; "NFF paid Forty thousand Naira into the player's account. Though they (NFF) said it was for transportation to their different location but I am not sure if other amount would be added.


"The Ministry of Sports promised to give us (Golden Eaglets) Two Million naira (N2m) and if that money is received, player will get Thirty thousand naira (N30,000) while officials get Fifty thousand Naira (N50,000) each.


Meanwhile, when contacted, the NFF refused to comment on whether or not the team will receive money for becoming the champions of WAFU B U17 tournament. The top NFF officials said, "We dont want to talk about their money given to them because of security reasons and considering the fact that they are very young."
