NFF Holds Crisis Meeting To Address Super Falcons’ Persistent Protests

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday, November 24, 2025, convened a high-level meeting aimed at resolving the persistent disputes with the Super Falcons and preventing their protests from escalating further, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Falcons have repeatedly raised concerns over unpaid bonuses and allowances, a long-standing issue that prompted them to file a complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. That action compelled the NFF to begin settling the outstanding payments, a process that has continued into 2025.

Speaking to BSN Sports on condition of anonymity, a senior NFF official confirmed that the federation has cleared more than 80 percent of the arrears owed to the team. However, the official noted that the players have chosen to issue a collective statement not only demanding settlement of the remaining balance but also calling on CAS to issue a definitive ruling that would prevent future cases of unpaid entitlements across all national teams.

 “The players want a lasting solution. They want CAS to make a pronouncement that will ensure these issues don’t continue,” the official told BSN Sports.

“We have paid the bulk of what is owed, but they want structural guarantees, not temporary fixes.” He added.

The ten times African champions have warned that they will not honour any match unless the federation settles the remaining debts.

The NFF is expected to continue discussions in the coming days as it works toward a resolution that satisfies both the federation and the Super Falcons’ demands for transparency and accountability.
