The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has ramped up its search for a new head coach for the Super Eagles as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
Since George Finidi's departure, the Nigerian team has been without a permanent coach.
Sources in Mali reveal that Eric Sekou Chelle, the former coach of the Mali national team, is in advanced discussions with the NFF regarding the vacant position.
Malian journalist Drissa Nionon (@drissaniono) confirmed that Chelle is currently in Abuja to finalize talks, and he is expected to be appointed as the new coach.
Chelle was dismissed as Mali’s coach last year following disappointing performances.
