NFF Moves Super Falcons To Radisson Blu Ahead of WAFCON 2026 Title Defence

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has relocated the Super Falcons to the five-star Radisson Blu Hotel in Casablanca City Center as preparations intensify for the team's Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title defence in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The nine-time African champions had initially opened camp on Monday at the Casablanca Marriott Hotel, also a five-star facility in the Moroccan city, before the federation opted to move the team to the Radisson Blu to provide an enhanced environment for the players and technical crew ahead of the tournament.

As of the time of reporting, 10 players had arrived at the team's camp in Casablanca, with more members of the squad expected to join from Wednesday.

Among the early arrivals are captain Rasheedat Ajibade, first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and former CAF African Women's Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala.

Also in camp are home-based goalkeeper Fatima Oloko, defenders Oluwatosin Demehin, Glory Ogbonna, Shukurat Oladipo and Rofiat Imuran, as well as midfielder Jennifer Echegini and Christy Ucheibe.

Nigeria will begin the defence of its WAFCON crown against Malawi on 28 July before facing Zambia on 1 August. The Super Falcons will conclude their Group C campaign against Egypt on 5 August, with all three matches scheduled to be played in Rabat.

Beyond continental glory, qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil will also be at stake in Morocco. The four semi-finalists will secure automatic qualification for the global tournament, while the fifth-placed team will advance to an intercontinental playoff scheduled for early next year.
