NFF Mutes On Mohammed Sanusi Contract Extension

 Precious Oham

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has kept mum on the contract extension of its General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Recall that Sanusi had come under intense criticism, as some football stakeholders in the country are opposing the elongation of his tenure for three years. Following the resolutions reached at the end of the Annual General Meeting of the NFF in Asaba, the contentious call by the stakeholders didn't see the light of the day. Sanusi was first appointed by the Amaju Pinnick administration for four years. After completing that tenure, Pinnick gave him a second term not just of four years this time around, but was handed a cumulative special five-year special tenure extension. By December when the term will run out, he would have served 11 years in charge of Nigerian football and has served almost two years under current President of the federation, Ibrahim Gusau.
