BSN Sports can exclusively report that the Minister of Sports Sunday Dare did not endorse Abba Yola for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) presidency.
Abba Yola, Chief of Staff to Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare has declared to run for the President of the NFF in September this year. Working directly with the minister, many football followers assumed that he was endorsed by the Minister to vie for the office but independent investigation by BSN Sports showed that Yola is running his personal ambition without taking advantage of his relatiionship with the Minister.
A Director at the Ministry of Sports in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports said, "he (Sunday Dare) did not endorse Abba Yola.
In fact, Minister had no hint that he was interested until we got to Birmingham. He is not supporting any candidate. He has said that the congress should choose whoever they want as their President." The Director who pleaded anonymity said.
Corrobarating this, Abba Yola while responding to the allegation that he will ride on the Minister support to have his way to the nation's football Number One position. He said, "You don’t know Sunday Dare (Minister of Sports).
"He is a man of principle, fair and just and would not want to compromise on his oath of office.
"I can tell you this is my personal decision which I will persue without also leveraging on my relationship with him be it official or personal.
This you can take to the bank.... He concluded.
