The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has received over One billion and six hundred thousand naira from FIFA and sponsor, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The NFF, has reportedly received more than a Billion Naira from FIFA for the Super Falcons' fine run at this year’s Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

According to www.insideglasshouse.com, after some deductions, FIFA last month paid the NFF $1.2 Million (more than a Billion and Two hundred thousand million Naira) as their own share from the country’s performance at the Women’s World Cup, where the Super Falcons reached the knockout rounds before they eventually lost to finalists, England.

NFF officials who spoke on condition of anonymity said the football federation have received Four Hundred million (400 Million Naira) from sponsors and renewals of telecommunications giants (MTN) contract.

“The NFF have some financial cushion now from these payments and so they should be able to clear some of their debts as well as get on with some of their activities rather than keep waiting on the Government to do everything for them,” a top source revealed.

“They got the money from FIFA last month (November, 2023) after the world football governing body deducted 32% from what was due to them for the Falcons advancing to the Round of 16.” The source concluded.
