NFF Responds To Chelle’s 19-Point Demand Ahead Of Jordan Invitational Tournament

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has addressed reports surrounding a list of fresh demands allegedly tabled by Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, insisting that the Malian tactician is already adequately provided for, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Recent reports claimed Chelle submitted a 19-point request as part of discussions concerning his future with the national team. Among the reported demands are a monthly salary of $130,000, a private sport utility vehicle with a designated driver, and dedicated security personnel.

The coach was also said to have requested a residence with guaranteed 24-hour electricity supply, alongside a fully furnished office equipped with a projector for tactical analysis and high-speed internet to support modern coaching operations.

However, NFF Secretary General Dr. Mohammed Sanusi dismissed suggestions that the coach lacks essential amenities.

“Chelle has accommodation, a car and a driver,” Sanusi stated, maintaining that the federation has already met key welfare provisions.

Sanusi did not comment on the other elements of the reported requests, particularly the proposed salary adjustment. Sources close to the federation indicate that Chelle still has one year remaining on his current contract, with the latest demands believed to be part of preliminary discussions toward a possible renewal.

It is understood that the matter will be reviewed by the NFF’s technical committee before any recommendation is forwarded to the federation’s board for consideration.

Despite the off-field developments, attention now shifts to competitive action, as Chelle prepares to lead the Super Eagles to a four-nation invitational tournament in Jordan during the March FIFA international window.

Nigeria, three-time African champions, will open their campaign against Iran on March 27 at the Amman International Stadium in Amman. They will conclude the tournament with a fixture against hosts Jordan on March 31.

For now, the focus remains on preparations for the international outing, even as contract discussions linger in the background.
