NFF Technical Chairman Backs Chelle To See Out Super Eagles Contract

The Technical Committee Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Sherif Inuwa Ahlan, has expressed confidence that Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle will fulfil the terms of his contract with the federation, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Chelle has approximately nine months remaining on his current agreement with the NFF. However, questions over his future have surfaced amid reports linking him with interest from unnamed national teams and club sides.
The reported interest follows Nigeria’s third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, a campaign widely viewed as a positive outing for the three-time continental champions.
Despite growing speculation, Ahlan remains adamant that there is no immediate cause for concern. According to a source who spoke to SCORENigeria, the NFF official believes discussions about the coach’s future are premature, insisting that Chelle is expected to honour the contract he signed.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to return to action next month at a four-nation invitational tournament in Amman, Jordan, where they will compete against the host nation and Iran.
With international fixtures on the horizon, NFF leadership is said to be focused on maintaining stability within the technical crew, expressing optimism that Chelle will remain committed to building the squad ahead of upcoming assignments.
