NFF’s Sanusi Credits Nimrod’s Leadership For Volleyball Revival

The Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, has praised the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, for the sustained growth and renewed momentum of volleyball in the country.

Sanusi made the commendation on Friday in Abuja following a thrilling match at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, where Life Camp Volleyball Club defeated Ajase Ipo Volleyball Club 3–2 in a closely contested encounter.

Speaking on the sidelines of the match, Sanusi said the progress recorded in Nigerian volleyball under Nimrod’s leadership was evident, noting that his active presence at volleyball events reflects a deep commitment to the sport.

According to Sanusi, volleyball has continued to gain admiration and respect nationwide due to purposeful administration and a clear development vision under the current leadership of the federation.

He attributed much of the sport’s advancement to Nimrod’s long-standing involvement with volleyball, describing his personal connection to the game as a key factor in his effective leadership and the steady progress recorded by the NVBF.

Sanusi also noted that Nimrod’s professional background as an engineer has positively influenced volleyball administration in Nigeria, introducing structure, strategic planning and innovative approaches that have helped accelerate the sport’s growth.

He further recalled that Nimrod’s involvement in volleyball dates back to his postgraduate days at the University of Ibadan, where he actively played the sport. Beyond his playing career, Nimrod also taught volleyball at both Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and degree levels, providing him with a strong technical and academic foundation for leading the sport at the national level.
