NLO Disqualifies 55 Players From the 2023 Season Owing To Health Issues

A total of 55 players have been disqualified from taking part in the 2023 season of the Nationwide League One which kicks off on Wednesday with the start match between Kano Pillars Jnr and Kwankwasiya United at the Sani Abacha Stadium, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The NLO Secretariat informed that its Medical Team has sent in some alarming reports with RED FLAG on some players which the doctors recommend for additional and further medical attention due to their health status.

In the first batch of results from the Pre-Competition Medical Assessment (PCMA) test carried out by the NLO, 55 players cut across 15 NLO teams, are set to be medically unfit to play matches.

The worst affected are PC FC of Abuja which has 11 players, followed by FCT Command FC of Abuja with six players.

The NLO further informed the clubs that the medical reports are with the Secretariat for dispatch to the various clubs, since the report is confidential.

The affected clubs are advised to withdraw the services of these players until further assessment and treatment are made and be cleared fit to play competitive football.
