The Nationwide League One (NLO) has imposed a ₦1.5 million fine on Green Beret FC and suspended the club's officials for two seasons following an attack on match officials after their fixture against Zamfara United, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The disciplinary measures were communicated to the club through an official memo issued by the NLO secretariat.

According to the league body, Green Beret FC is required to pay ₦1 million as a penalty for violent conduct, while an additional ₦500,000 is to be paid to cover the medical expenses of the referees injured during the incident. The payments must be made within seven days.

The NLO described the attack as unacceptable and noted that such actions damage the reputation and integrity of the game.

In addition, the league organisers directed Green Beret FC to provide the identities of the club officials involved in the assault on the match officials within 48 hours.

The sanctions underscore the NLO's commitment to maintaining discipline and ensuring the safety of match officials across its competitions.
