NLO Suspends Ogbomosho United Players, Officials Over Assault On Match Officials

The Nationwide League One Secretariat, organisers of Nigeria's third-tier football has suspended some players and officials of Ogbomosho United over assault on match officials, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

According to the league body, "they received the official Match report on the assault on match officials by players and officials of Ogbomosho FC on the 6th May 2024.

"It was reported that the match was smooth and no incident that warranted the assault on the match officials by the players and officials of Ogbomosho Utd FC Oyo state.

"The Nationwide League One rules and regulations on refusal to continue to play a match states that; 4.07(1). Intimidation/ Harassment of match officials by club supporter(s) fans or club officials before, during, and after the match are prohibited Such offenders shall be punished and the team officials sanctioned.

"The NLO rules and regulations article 4:07(1) is sacrosanct and shall be applied in detail. The underlisted players and officials of Ogbomoso are hereby suspended from all football matches: Ridwan Kamaldeen and Ebere Success; Shittu Ismail, Club GM and Atoyebi Adetunji, Media Officer. 

The above decision is taken in line with the rules and regulations of Nationwide League One and the club has a right to appeal."
