NLO Suspends Rising Stars FC Officials, Players Over Misconduct

The Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) has wielded the big stick against some officials and players of Rising Stars FC Jigawa over acts of misconduct and unsportsmanlike behaviour during a league match in the ongoing 2026 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to a statement from the NLO Secretariat, the disciplinary action followed a disturbing report received after Rising Stars FC’s encounter against Jnr Jigawa Golden Stars FC Jigawa.

The league body stated that the conduct of the affected individuals during the match violated the principles of fair play and professionalism expected in the competition.

As a result, the NLO announced the indefinite suspension of the affected officials and players from further participation in the league pending the final determination of the case by the Disciplinary Committee.

The suspended individuals are: Ismail Brown – Official

Sunusi Garba – Official

Nasir Idris – Player (Jersey No. 8)

Babangifa Aliyu – Player (Jersey No. 3)

Lurwanu Abdul – Player (Jersey No. 32)

The NLO reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline, integrity, and sportsmanship throughout the 2026 season.
