Gateway Football Club of Ogun State is on the verge of appointing former Lekki United manager, Ayo Filani, as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reliable sources, Filani has already agreed personal terms with the club and is expected to be unveiled in the coming days.

The Ogun State-owned side parted ways with their former coach following an underwhelming performance last season, which saw them struggle to maintain consistency in the league.

Filani, who is known for his tactical discipline and ability to develop young players, is expected to bring a fresh approach to the team as they aim for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

His immediate task will be to rebuild the squad and prepare them for a competitive campaign in the new season.
