The management of the Nigeria National League side Sokoto United has intensified readiness for the upcoming season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The team missed the opportunity to play in the Nigeria Premier Football League last season after they finished 3rd in their group. The club hierarchy a few weeks ago announced Peter Ajeni as the new coach to replace the departed Abdullahi Mansoor. The club on Friday announced the capture of Philemon Bitrus from Green Beret and David Igoche from Zema FC. " Sokoto United FC is delighted to announce the signing of two exceptional players. Philimon Bitrus, a skilled central defender, joins us from Greenberet FC on a 2-year contract deal. David Igoche, a talented left-back, signs from Zema FC of Benue State", the club said.
