NNL 2025: Akin Olowookere Targets Promotion to NPFL With Ekiti United

New appointed head coach of Ekiti United, Akin Olowookere has set target to ensure that the team secures promotion to the NPFL, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Olowookere, who was unveiled by the Ekiti State Governor pledged to take the club to Nigerian top-flight football. 

He called on supporters of Ekiti United to support the team towards the actualization of his dreams and aspirations. 

"After the interview when I was called upon and selected to lead Ekiti United, I already had it on my mind that the only thing that befits this team is for them to go back to where they belonged which is the premiership and that is exactly what we are going do.

"We are going to do everything possible within our powers to make sure that we take Ekiti United to the next level which is the premiership level.

'I was not here last season and I wouldn't know what transpired in Ekiti United but I want to tell you that I'm here now, I never experienced this lower division, I have always worked at the highest level for about two decades of the premiership and I have just come to the lower division to see what I can do to bring them to the top. 

"What happened last season is gone and I'm going to open another chapter now, that chapter is to make sure that we win our home matches and make more points away to be able to qualify for the next one and then we know what next to do."
