Ogun State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, has declared that there would be no automatic spot for any player ahead of the upcoming NNL season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

He challenged the newly appointed technical crew of Gateway United FC to elevate the club to new heights by harnessing the state's rich football talent pool.

While receiving a 28-man list of players selected from across the state's four zones, Hon. Isiaka emphasized the need for a transformative approach and urged the technical crew led by Festus Allen to turn things around.

"We're not just making a change; we're making history. Mediocrity is no longer acceptable. Gateway United must compete at the highest level. The time for change is now.

"This initiative isn't just about football; it's about unlocking the extraordinary talents within our state. The government's gesture is a beacon of hope. Muda Lawal rose to greatness through this sport – why not you? You have the potential. Let it be known that there will be no automatic spots in this team."
