The Management of Nigeria National League (NNL) has confirmed that Joy Cometh will be readmitted and participate in the second tier League that will commence this year.

Joy Cometh had petitioned the decision of the NNL to exclude the club from the current season at the end last season (2020/2021). At the end of last season, the team was placed 11th on the table of its group comprising of 13 teams, and by the provisions of the rule, the Club supposed to participate in the current 2021/22 NNL season as against the NNL management decision to place it on relegation.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Organising Committee in a letter to the NNL upturned the League Management decision and ordered that the club be reinstated back.

"The Committee noted that Group B1 of Southern Conference has 12 teams while B2 has 13 teams and thus recommends that Joy Cometh be admitted into Group B1 to make it 13." The statement reads in part.

In an exclusive interview with BSN Sports, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the League, Emmanuel Adesanya confirmed that Joy Cometh will be reinstated but in the 2022/23 season as this current season ends soon.

"NFF is our parent body and we cant do otherwise. They have ordered that Joy Cometh be reinstated back and we are going to do exactly that. Joy Cometh will participate in the 2022/23 NNL." Adesanya said.
