Wikki Tourists head coach, Abdullahi Maikaba, has urged his players to step up their performance following a goalless draw in their opening match of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoff tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Bauchi Elephants were held to a 0-0 draw by Doma United on Saturday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

Despite the setback, Maikaba remains optimistic about his team's chances of securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

“It was a tough first game. We created chances but couldn’t take them,” Maikaba said during his post-match interview.

“The key now is to stay focused and improve before the next match. I believe the boys will come back stronger.”

Wikki Tourists will face Barau FC in their second group game on Monday.
