NNL24: Aminu's Strike Secures Nasarawa United Win Over Zamfara United In Season Opener

The Nigeria National League (NNL) returned for a brand new season as Nasarawa United opened the campaign on a bright note with a 1-0 win over Zamfara United, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

As they kickstart the 2023/24 season with a victory, in a Matchday 1 encounter in the Northern Conference C opener, which took center stage at the Lafia City Stadium, Lafia. 

The Solid Miners went ahead in the game just inside nine minutes, when Aminu Abubakar produced a remarkable volley in the edge of the box to make it 1-0. 

The host held onto the goal as they went into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead. 

But in the second half, Zamfara United continued to press on for an equalizer but it was difficult for them to make the breakthrough as Nasarawa United defenders held it tied by putting their bodies on the line, which was enough to secure the maximum points in the Northern Conference Group C opener. 

With the NNL season not officially opened, the rest of the Matchday 1 games in the Southern Conferences and Northern Conferences will be played next weekend across the centers Nationwide.
