Matchday 28 of the Nigeria Premier Football League commenced on Saturday with home sides El Kanemi Warriors and Kwara United securing maximum points in front of their supporters, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

At the El-Kanemi Stadium, the hosts recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory over Abia Warriors.

 Daddy Abdulrahman opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute after the home side were awarded a spot-kick.

El Kanemi maintained control for large spells of the encounter and sealed the win late on when Bashir Musa doubled the advantage in the 86th minute to ensure all three points for the Maiduguri-based outfit.

In Ilorin, Wikki Tourists fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Kwara United. 

Akeem Akanni netted the decisive goal as early as the 15th minute, a strike that ultimately proved sufficient for the Harmony Boys to claim victory.

The remaining Matchday 28 fixtures are scheduled to be played on Sunday and Monday as the race for points intensifies across the league.
