NPFL: Akure Township Stadium Will Be Ready In February, Project Manager Assures Sunshine Stars

The project manager overseeing the renovation of the Akure Township Stadium, Muhammad Sanni, has assured Sunshine Stars FC and its supporters that the pitch will be ready for use by February 2025, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

For the past few seasons, Sunshine Stars have been forced to play their home matches away due to the poor condition of the pitch.

However, with ongoing renovations, Sanni confirmed that the sports complex would be prepared in time for the team's upcoming home games.

"The company guarantees that Sunshine Stars will play its first home match of the season in Akure by February 2025," Sanni stated.

He further explained that the grass for the pitch is being sourced from outside Nigeria and that it is currently undergoing the necessary production and clearance processes.

 "We are in the process of clearing the materials, and I can confidently assure you that by February, Sunshine Stars will return to their home ground," he added.
